Night Club Patrons to be Noise Protected
The Federal Government indicated at a recent Hearing Services Consultative Committee meeting in Canberra that they were considering the compulsory provision of hearing protective devices to night club patrons where excessive noise existed. This is a welcome move however ACE Audiology is concerned at the uptake with many patrons of night clubs likely to ignore the risk. The real solution is to control by law the level of noise in night clubs with penalties applicable so the message of hearing conservation is taken seriously. ACE Audiology looks forward to future developments in this area. Stay tuned for future updates.
